Cleaned my TF135 yesterday.
In the last week - Service, new drivers side front light unit fitted, new wiper blades ,new number plate screws and covers.
Remap and Engine clean tomorrow.
Just a windscreen chip and a couple of trolley dents to sort and I'm happy.

Been cleaning my 3 ring lexus style light...the upper pic shows the condition they were in apart from the rear one had already had the middle lens cleaned. The lower pic shows lights in same position but after a relatively quick clean. Will spend more time polishing them before sealing them to help reduce further oxidisation

Lucky you, rain stopped play again yesterday when trying to finish off fitting inlet manifold. Finally got it all back together today in glorious sunshine though

Done nothing for 3 days but the big parcel arrived with Alli radiator and fan .All perfect .now ready tmorow for MOT .Our garage workshop is next to the MOT guys who if we talk nicely do brake and gas tests as a favour Need the gas test down

Changed the coil packs for a newer set. Whilst in that part of the engine I removed the spark plugs and carried out a cylinder pressure test with my new tool. All 4 cylinders measured between 12-13bar. Not bad for an engine that has done 89k although i did do a top end rebuild a few years back, (about 1000miles since). Very pleased.

Today I've been mostly rebuilding the Head of my 1996 120mpi which I stripped in 2014 but then got side tracked with other MGF's and TF's. Problem is, the F has now stood for so long the liners are rusted so debating whether to just drop a second hand block in with the rebuilt head on (have one spare) or change the liners and pistons for a new/second hand set.

Today I installed new front pads and cleaned the interior.

Head gasket and PRT.all ok . Now the problem via OBD New temp sender switches on radiator fan . But SW off engine .then start again fan on for a few seconds then goes off .Also camshaft sensor fault . Does rev ok in N . But misses under load accelerating ..It's steptronic . . Great car step and electric steering and hydro susp super
Help !!??

Took advantage of a gorgeous morning to change the rear upper ball joints. One came loose without fuss the other needed a length of scaffold tube to free it. Actually a pretty straightforward job for once.
Then went to tackle the Track rod ends. Lock nut on the first one is absolutely solid- I left it to soak up some Plusgas while I soaked up a beer. Finish them tommorow, and a couple more things before her MOT.

Had to changge all the ball joints and the TREs, so now going for wheel alignment.

Pulled the cigar lighter to USB adapter out of wifey's LE500 85th and brought it indoors.
WTH? I hear you wail. Well, today is also the day that it dawned on me that that little device is nought but a step down transformer and if you leave it in the permanently live cigar lighter your battery will flatten within a very few days, even with nothing in the 5 volt end. Next job is to rewire the socket to an ignition source.

Made up a fog lamp loom from odds and ends. Fitted, tested and all good.
Felt despondent at the amount of under bonnet muck. At least no seagull droppings under there. A quick clean and all is well.

Not been on for a while, My tf has been having a bit of a make over this yr it’s just about finished , I’ve Completely removed all the rust welded Sills etc where needed , and fully respayed it Darkened up the original colour slightly as I found the blue a bit too in your face .
and most importantly I have refurbed the front callipers and finished the rear brake upgrade to 4 pot callipers And vented discs And wow what difference the brakes are insanely good now .

Fitted the OEM Soft ride kit to my 2004 TF. Very pleased with the result, Road noise greatly reduces, harsh banging eliminated and a lot quieter ride. Only problem was the top rear licnut were rusted solid and the allan recess rounded due to trying to release the. Resut angle grinded off the nuts!!! No fun! So if you decide to do it have a nut splitter handy.

Something I am thinking of doing. Good job. Good idea to have a nut splitter.
How easy did you find them to fit? How much time did you allow? Did you get the upgraded bolts that have no play in them?
