I was wondering how MG is received around the UK, and then recalled the DTI release data by region. So I went to work and came up with the data. There is a blog article I put together on the subject for more detail if you wish but the chart I've posted here. The link is:


I was surprised that Wales was so strong. The Midlands has a close connection to MGR so I guess East Midlands is no surprise.

Surprised by Wales's strong performance. It did used to be strong MGR territory with dealerships also selling LandRover so perhaps some of those have switched to MG. In London and the South East, many dealers have simply become redeveloped due to land values but I can see that in other parts of the UK, this would not be the case.
Idon't believe there's a strong East Midlands connection to MG or MGR.
