I'm not going to make a guess this month because of the somewhat volatile situation. What will be really interesting for the next few months will be how MG sales compare to those of the other manufacturers.
My family are keeping me in semi-isolation because I am supposedly over the magic age whereby I am more liable to be affected by covid19.
Hope all of you forumites keep safe and well,
All the best...Chris.

My guess for March is 2,725. I also think a full month would would have been nearer to 4,000.

I think I'm going to pause the game as the situation is getting worse as we go along. Just reading the latest MGE, at the beginning of the month we were more concerned about supply than demand, and being cooped up in our houses for weeks on end with all the pubs shut would have been unthinkable.
The numbers are released on Monday.

Although MG is up spectacularly in a market which fell 44%, the huge sales for boom reg change month (until shutdown) mean that if all the competition fell 50-60% MG overtook only Mitsubishi.

as above, no competition this month, we'll wait until the embargo is lifted. In Germany, car showrooms are now open again.

Indeed, what a month, this could be the last month that SsangYong ties with MG (45!) but MG outsold Renault and Honda as well as all the usual suspects except Fiat.. There again, top seller was Vauxhall (479) and Jaguar (396) outsold Ford (306). A sad state of affairs for our country but 45 cars sold is still more than four times better than MG Motor's worst month when only 11 TFs were registered!

In this strange month, for the first time five BEVs were registered for every four diesels. In this "lockdown" traffic you can smell the diesels a mile off!

Gradually lockdown is being relaxed, the death toll is subsiding slowly but surely, on Monday 1 June I visited Richmond MG Guildford and they had sold five new cars by 3pm on that first day reopened.

Who would have predicted before this slight relaxation that MG Motor UK's sales would be up almost fourfold in May over April? However, they failed to outsell Renault for the month(surprise lol!) though they did outsell Suzuki and Mazda.

YTD MG have not outsold Fiat, or Mazda or Honda or Suzuki, but they actually have overtaken Dacia.

BEVs are back below diesels, but I note that Polestar has joined the list of manufacturers - which Tesla, despite its success, does not wish to be shown separately in (surprisingly the SMMT has agreed to that!)

Now the first part of the crisis is subsiding and the sales activity is starting up again. Over the past few months we now know to expect MG5 BEV soon as well as a facelift petrol ZS and a software debonging update for ZS EV. HS PHEV is doubtless still on the cards for this year also.

It will be time to resume our paused game towards the end of June.

The pandemic seems now to be under control though we still have to stay alert. Time to restart the game.

June 2019 was 1,078 though last month was only 177!
The English dealers seem to have been very busy all month and we are once again getting handover photos (albeit socially distanced ones). Welsh and Scottish dealers have not been allowed to sell new cars from their showrooms until this week, although they have clearly been continuing to register new cars. This could be particularly relevant for MG as not only is their top dealer Welsh-based but MG sales are also particularly strong in Wales (ZS was seconf-highest-selling model out of all manufacturers' models - Ford, Volkswagen too! - one month last year IIRC).

From now on, we'll stop the guesses on the last day of the month.

I'm going to guess at 1,212 (as in call Scotland Yard, these new MGs are such good value they must be stolen!).

While many of us have been finding lockdown a bit of a struggle, others of us have been paying stuff off, and after an unusual number of weeks at home looking at the car on the drive, some may have decided to get something new but which doesn't depreciate as badly as an Audi. MG's lack of diesel and its commitment to EV look very good after a period where you could smell the flowers and hear the roses, and also smell a diesel for 20 seconds after it had passed. But there again, I hope to enjoy a pint of good ol' British "LURVENBROY!" in the pub before this month's numbers come out, which is possibly a little optimistic,,,
